Since our humble beginnings, Southern Tier Brewing Company has grown into an industry leader and world-class brewery.

As demand has grown over the years, Southern Tier has expanded to a 110 BBL Steinecker brewhouse. Surrounding the brewhouse is the packaging hall with keg, bottle and can production lines as well as our ever-growing farm of fermenters and state-of-the-art brewing quality lab.

From our wildly innovative founder, Phin DeMink, who’s still a daily inspiration, to the new generation of brewers who share our pursuit of what’s next, we keep honing the creative edge of brewing discovery. Our brewing team utilizes a 2BBL and 25 BBL system for smaller batches to test new and cutting-edge ideas. Many of these beers are available in our taprooms.

At the brewery in Lakewood, NY, there is not one, but two taprooms. The Empty Pint houses out-of-this-world dishes and house-smoked meats, while the Callander overlooks the gorgeous Steinecker brewhouse. Adjacent to all of this is our indoor/outdoor seasonal patio, warm-weather performance stage and stones course. Just up the lane is our 45,000-sq-ft warehouse and logistics facility and, of course, the distillery. All of this landscape of liquid love sits on naturally wooded campus that includes several acres of wetland preserve for our resident waterfowl.

Pittsburgh is the home of the first satellite brewpub from Southern Tier Brewing Co., which was founded in Lakewood, NY less 3 hours north of PGH in 2002. We’re known for brewing world-class hoppy ales and decadent dessert beers alike, but what many folks know us for is the experience they have when our visiting our brewery. At STBC PGH, you can expect the full Southern Tier Experience.

About the brews. What you see inside these walls is a German-designed Krones Micro Cube capable of cranking out about 8.5 bbls per turn (10hL to be exact.) Beside that, you’ll note eight 25 hL fermenters. We’ll brew local-only beers for the pub (some that’ll stay local, some that’ll go into full production in Lakewood), local collaborations, and beers that are just plain fun. Four of the fermenters act as serving tanks, so the beer will flow directly from the vessel to the tap tower – as fresh as it gets!

Of the 30 taps in house, we’ll have a few on from our friends and partners at Victory Brewing Company, Sixpoint Brewery, and Bold Rock Hard Cider. So while you’re here sipping on Southern Tier 2XIPA or Nu Skool IPA, you can also grab a fresh, delicious brew and cider from Victory, Sixpoint, and Bold Rock.

Hey Pittsburgh! We love being a part of the community, serving you excellent beer, amazing food and bringing you a North Shore experience second to none!
